Alude Xuba
Founder and Managing Attorney
From his early days in Mthatha to his formative years in Pretoria, Alude Xuba’s journey into law has been marked by purpose, perseverance, and a vision for transformation. Inspired by direct encounters with the justice system as a student, he went on to earn LLB and LLM degrees from the University of Pretoria, focusing on financial regulation and commercial law.
Xuba’s career spans senior legal roles at leading firms and fintech companies, advising on high-value, cross-border transactions and regulatory compliance across Africa. At Xuba & Associates, he leads with clarity, strategy, and a client-centred approach.
A passionate mentor and advocate for accessible justice, Xuba is also a regular media contributor on matters of national legal interest. Erna Sefoka
Executive Consultant
Erna is an experienced legal counsel with 20+ years’ experience in complex contracts, mergers and acquisitions, energy projects (upstream/downstream oil and gas and renewables), and regulatory compliance across multiple African jurisdictions. Erna previously served as Director of Contracts at a public higher education institution, where she led the contract lifecycle management, strengthened legal risk controls, and drove process efficiencies across the institution. Prior to that, she was a legal advisor at a multinational petrochemical company, supporting multimillion-dollar commercial and project development deals across the energy value chain.
Erna is committed to justice for everyone and intentionally weaves Integrative Law principles into her professional practice.
Joseph Madi
Associate
Joseph Madi is a legal and regulatory professional in South Africa, specializing in commercial law, fintech regulation, and technology governance. He holds an LLB and a Bachelor of Commerce in Law from the University of Fort Hare and is pursuing an LLM in Commercial Law at the University of Cape Town, focusing on technology law and financial regulation. He works at the intersection of law, technology, and financial systems, providing research-driven legal and regulatory insight in complex and evolving areas of practice. His expertise includes commercial law, regulatory compliance, and legal research, particularly in areas like digital assets and cryptocurrency regulation. Madi is interested in emerging technologies, cybersecurity governance, and data regulation, committed to providing practical legal insights for stakeholders in complex regulatory environments.
John Macheke
Candidate Attorney
John is currently a Candidate Attorney at Xuba and Associates Attorneys Inc. He completed his LLB degree at North West University, Potchefstroom Campus. Beyond his academic journey, he actively pursued opportunities to strengthen his legal research, drafting and analytical abilities. As a Moot Court Coach and Legal Skills Trainer, he conducted extensive legal research, developed structured legal arguments and trained learners in persuasive advocacy. Under his guidance, learners achieved a top national ranking in the National Schools Moot Court Competition, and I later had the honour of serving as a judge in the same competition. These experiences sharpened his analytical reasoning, attention to detail and ability to communicate complex legal concepts effectively.
He also gained practical experience as a Community Legal Education Facilitator, where he delivered presentations on constitutional rights and dispute resolution to diverse audiences. This role strengthened his professional communication skills and reinforced his passion for using the law as a tool for empowerment and education. In addition, he completed professional development programmes with leading international and commercial law firms, further enhancing his understanding of professional legal practice, drafting standards and high-performance legal environments.
John works in all aspects of commercial law, general litigation, and intellectual property law.
Ukwanda Nonxuba
Attorney
Ukwanda completed her high school education at Kingsridge High School for Girls in King William’s Town where she was the Head Girl in her matric year. She obtained a BCom Law degree at Rhodes University and went on to obtain her LLB degree at University of Pretoria. She completed her articles at one of the oldest law firms in the Eastern Cape, in King William’s Town where she continued in practice as an associate after becoming an admitted attorney. Ukwanda deals with all aspects of general commercial law and litigation.
Rebaone Pule
Candidate Attorney
Rebaone Pule completed his LLB degree at University of the Free State in 2025. During his academic years he served as vice chairperson of the Black Lawyers Association (SC) UFS and worked together with the National Prosecuting Authority (office of the Director of Public Prosecutions in Free State) to develop a student mentorship programme.
Ruan Macleod
Conveyancer
Ruan Macleod, an admitted attorney and conveyancer at Xuba & Associates Attorneys Inc., is a leading expert in property law and its commercial applications. His career has been guided by a deep interest in the legal and financial principles that govern property transactions.
Ruan's academic journey is marked by excellence. He graduated with a distinction Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree and earned a full bursary for a master's degree in Business and Commercial Law at the University of the Witwatersrand. This rigorous training equips him with a comprehensive understanding of his work's legal and commercial aspects.
At Xuba & Associates Attorneys Inc., Ruan advises on complex corporate transactions and assists clients in structuring estates to improve returns and ensure tax efficiency. He is recognised for his precise analysis and ability to deliver legal advice that aligns neatly with commercial realities.
As a conveyancer, Ruan manages property transactions with care and meticulous attention. He oversees commercial transfers and attends to every detail, ensuring clients remain well-informed and confident throughout the process. His approach combines technical skills with a practical understanding of his client's objectives.

Emihle Ngozi
Office Coordinator
Emihle completed her high school education at Basa Tutorial Institute. She obtained a Diploma in Economics from Tshwane University of Technology, and in her final year, driven by a curiosity to learn and hone her skills, she completed online courses mainly in Data Analytics, Professional Foundations, Web Development, Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Emihle is responsible for the efficient running and administration of the firm.
Frans Moiane
Legal Associate
Frans Emmanuel Moiane was born and raised in the rural community of Phiva, situated in the Nkomazi region of Mpumalanga. He attended Gebhuza Secondary School, where he completed his matriculation in 2018. During his high school years, Frans developed a keen interest in legal studies, a passion that would shape his future endeavours. In 2019, Frans enrolled at the University of Johannesburg to pursue a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree.
His academic journey at UJ was marked by dedication and resilience. Despite the challenges of university life, he distinguished himself by being part of the top 1% of academic achievers in 2019. Additionally, his team earned a spot on the university's top achievers' list for a group assignment they conducted, showcasing his skills in research and leadership abilities. This inspired Frans to work harder until he completed his studies in 2022.
Pfarelo Mashige
Paralegal
Pfarelo Mashige is a committed, detail-oriented paralegal at Xuba & Associates Attorneys Inc. She holds a Higher Certificate in Law and a Certificate in the Administration of Deceased Estates.
Pfarelo's passion for the law is evident in her commitment to ongoing learning. She is pursuing a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree. She is eager to apply her expanding knowledge within the dynamic environment at Xuba & Associates Attorneys Inc. Her dedication to growth aligns with the firm's ethos of continuous professional improvement and client-focused service.
With more than four years of experience as a legal secretary, she has built a solid foundation in legal practice. Her work has given her practical exposure to the administration of deceased estates, commercial law, matters involving the Road Accident Fund (RAF), and basic conveyancing.
She works closely with attorneys, manages client files, conducts client intake, drafts and formats legal documents, and provides essential administrative support. Her strong organisational skills and careful attention to detail enable her to handle sensitive legal matters with professionalism and confidentiality.
As the firm repositions itself as a legal and strategic partner in South Africa's evolving economy, Pfarelo's skills contribute to operational efficiency and ensure that clients experience the clarity and personal attention for which the firm is known. “I believe that the law should not only provide certainty but also empower clients to make confident, commercially and legally sound decisions,” she says. Jeanette Budd brings a rare mix of creativity, commercial insight, and operational rigour to Xuba & Associates Attorneys Inc. Born in the UK and raised in Johannesburg, she began her career at Ogilvy’s, gaining agency experience before launching her own successful boutique firm, which she led for over two decades.
Her passion for language led her into content development, where she has written across industries with strategic and editorial clarity. At Xuba & Associates, Jeanette manages marketing, operations, and intellectual property support, especially around copyright and trademarks.
Her colleagues value her precision, energy, and ability to translate complex legal ideas into clear communication. Whether shaping public messaging or coordinating internal systems, she brings structure and vision to everything she touches. A true connector, Jeanette embodies the firm’s values of integrity, purpose, and intelligent growth.
Khanyiso Ndinisa
Professional Assistant
Khanyiso Ndinisa brings a rare blend of artistic discipline and administrative precision to Xuba & Associates Attorneys Inc. Raised in Kempton Park, she developed early leadership skills and artistic flair, performing at the State Theatre and serving as a school prefect. She later earned a Higher Certificate in Performing Arts and a BA in Music at AFDA, graduating with academic distinction and releasing a full-length album.
At Xuba & Associates, Khanyiso supports legal operations, client engagement, and digital communications.
